Alls well here on the Ark

February 14, 2005

First I would like to say a big thank you to all who have
taken the time to write in to this site.It has been a work
in progress all these many months.Os far their hasnt been
any income received but it has not been that long out there
and the web is so vast.I am just learing this and it takes
many months to get listed on search engines. Well
everything is going strong even though the wet is still
holding off.The colony is 30 plus many new joeys visit or
just stay around the house.Moustique is here every day at
feeding times and he is so big now .I will try to get a new
picture of him to the album soon. Delicat has moved off and
has joined the group at the river. He rearly comes home
anymore.I think Moustique has deceided that he will stick
around for the hand outs of food and apples. He still enjoys
his cuddles.Matildas new joey has its head out sometimes
but have not got to see if its a boy or girl.To date she
has had only females. This ones head is a little dark for a
girl. Her last one Trooper still comes home with her
everyday.Looks like she is a resident like her mom.The bad
boys(Bundy and Rum) are great. They have grown so much
sometimes even I get them mixed up with the other young
ones.they sleep in the big cage then let out in the day
time.they do their zig zag running building up their
muscles so they can out run the dogs.Beverly is also
getting out in the day time and loves the room to strech
out those long legs.We have a new one in the big cage, her
name is Tillie and shes a little doll.Shes not so little as
most that come to us.Around 7 or 8 months I would
say.someone had her sinceshe was small and she became too
much to handle so shes with us now.Rocky the rock wallaby
is just to mature to be confined in the house. But as he is
so small i cant put him in the big inclosuer yet.He is a
mad man in the house at night.Little Gismo is only 5 months
old and is an antilopine. She is the biggest guts with her
milk I have ever seen.she is growing fast.Little Pooket is
growing also and is about 6 months now.Her mother always
eats the tail of her joeys and sometimes the do not
survive. So this time when her mom was doing this I had to
interfer.I pulled her from the pouch a few momths ago.Her
mother is one I raised many moons ago. Some of the ones
that were released 5 years ago still come to feed at the
house. Some of their grown joeys never leave.God I love this
place with all the wildlife around me.I wish more people
could be as fortunate as I.Well people the night is late
and I must get some rest all those little creatures are
depending on me.Also I forgot to say that George has
returned to the house a few weeks ago.And is here once
again each morning for his feed. Goodbye from the Ark
